About Us
About the owner:
Scott Holtzhouser
Scott's love for the restaurant industry brought
him to the Culinary Institute of America and
the beautiful Hudson Valley. Upon graduation
from the CIA in 2000, Scott opened his first
restaurant, The Haymaker. With its continued
success, Scott sought to open another. In 2003,
CREW opened its doors to the public. In June
of 2004, Scott’s next project was opening
Ms. Nesbitt’s Café in the new
visitors’ center of the Franklin D. Roosevelt
home and presidential library in Hyde Park,
NY. Never tiring, Scott has recently opened
his fourth restaurant at the Net Sports Complex
and Gold’s Gym in Lagrange, NY. The Net
Café will offer a wide variety of enticing
salads, sandwiches, wraps and pizzas along
with much, much more.
The Bar
There is a flare and pulse at CREW that exists
throughout and past the hours of food service
in our outstanding bar. With ten draughts of
some of the finest microbreweries in the country,
a bottled beer list that is as long as it is
delicious, and a charming wine list with over
twenty-five high-quality bottles offered by
the glass, we try to meet and exceed our guests
dining expectations. Add our twelve custom martinis
to our roster and your palette will be more
than enticed.
About the kitchen
One of CREW’s main highlights is its
full exhibition kitchen, where guests can sit
at the food bar and watch the chef’s create
their masterpieces. Our eclectic American Regional
menu is updated and altered every few months
to keep our guests guessing. Items such as pan
seared red snapper and the filet mignon are
always big hits. Our soups, of which there are
three daily, were voted best in the Hudson Valley
in 2004 and 2005 and our daily specials are
always as tantalizing as they are innovative
CREW receives a great deal of its savvy flavor
from the young CIA graduates and students who
make up the majority of the staff. The crew
at CREW, both energetic and cohesive, seeks
not only to better our guests experience but
to further their education in the culinary field.
